"Superman's Energy-Crisis!", script by Cary Bates, pencils by Curt Swan, inks by Tex Blaisdell. A strange energy-drain causes Superman to consume mass quantities of food while the Toyman runs rampant.  Superman discovers that solar energy is being drained somewhere deep inside the earth's core, so he burrows into the earth's core where he discovers a freak hybrid of metal alloys that is absorbing the sun's energy and his own.

"The Campus That Swallowed Itself!", script by Martin Pasko, art by José Delbo.  A groundskeeper accidentally activates the Actualizer, causing Ivy University to be inundated in a tide of creeping ivy, until the Atom finds a solution.
